Having a long history dating back to the 19th century, “Mihai Viteazul “ National College is one of the most distinguished educational settlements in the county of Prahova and in Romania. There are over 1500 students aged 11-18 and more than 110 teachers. The curriculum of the school includes: sciences (mathematics-physics, physics-chemistry, chemistry-biology, computer science and humanities (history, social sciences, foreign languages). Bilingual programmes in English and French are a special feature in both science and humanities fields. For example, the bilingual students are prepared by language teachers to sit exams such as Cambrigde or DELF/DALF or write a paper in the 12th form about the culture and civilisation of the respective country. Extracurricular activities such as debating, Comenius International Projects(2002-2007) and many remarkable results in international competitions have made a name for our school at home and abroad.
Although our college has distinguished itself over the years as being one that prepares its students in the spirit of competition, we feel that it lacks involvement in the local community as well as partnerships with schools around the world. Thus, our future goal is to involve our students in such activities as much as possible, so that they will become active citizens of the European Union who will be active in making our world a better place.
